On Traveling: “I love to travel, and was fortunate to spend five great years in the U.S. Army as a photojournalist and photographer. I climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan and visited Munich, Germany during Oktoberfest. I traipsed the jungles of Central and South America and went diving in Hawaii.”

“But my favorite travel story is that during my student years at Duquesne University, I ran away and joined the circus on a whim one summer to get more playing time. It was a collegiate circus that traveled every day to a new town. While playing and recording was great, I was also once the bearded lady, learned fire eating and performed on the still trapeze.”

He plays on a Stomvi Mambo Titanium Bb trumpet using a Mark Curry custom 1HCS mouthpiece and a Leblanc Sandoval flugelhorn using a Curry 1HFL mouthpiece.
