About - Trinity Jazz Orchestra The Trinity Jazz Orchestra is the Western Pennsylvania region's only non-profit, professional, repertory jazz orchestra. TJO, the cornerstone ensemble of the Trinity Music Group, Inc. is comprised of music educators and other professional musicians whose desire is to play excellent and challenging music to the best of their abilities for appreciative audiences, having fun and fellowship with the other members of the organization while using their God-given talents. Musical entertainment and education, both of young students and adults, are their primary focus. The Trinity Jazz Orchestra (TJO) is the cornerstone ensemble of Trinity Music Group, Inc. TJO was originally formed to support the Visiting Artist in Residence (VAR) Program that is conducted in various school districts in Western Pennsylvania. More information about the VAR program can be seen at the Artists section. Since that time, interest and excitement about TJO has grown and the scope of our interest has expanded. The following will detail more about what we are and where we are going. TJO is a full-sized big band with twenty members that specializes in the best Christian and secular big band jazz. As a repertory jazz orchestra, we represent the music of such famous orchestras as Count Basie, Ralph Carmichael, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, Glenn Miller and other similar bands.
